It provides merger and acquisition services, including preparing pitch documents/information memorandums, performing valuations on targets, and calculating acquisition synergies for the acquirer, and engineering and advisory services for deals and new deals; strategic partnership services; and corporate advisory services in the areas of capital/debt structuring, preparing project reports/appraisals, devising financial structures, spin-offs, structuring leveraged buy outs, and compliance related issues; and valuation services for ESOPs, regulatory purposes, fairness opinions, and business and IP valuation. In addition, the company offers advisory services in raising equity through venture capital activities, private equity and quasi equity placements, strategic investments by corporates, and secondary market offerings/placements; and advisory services in raising debt from banks, financial institutions, and international/multilateral organizations through long term/short term working capital funding, foreign currency borrowings/external commercial borrowings, project financing, and convertible debt. It serves heavy engineering, information technology, cement, pharmaceutical, hotel, chemical, power, and oil and gas industries. The company was formerly known as Alpha Financial & Advisory Services Limited and changed its name to V. B. Desai Financial Services Limited in September 1985. The company was incorporated in 1985 and is based in Mumbai, India.
